Creative Services: Association Gets New Logo
Professional association Epsilon Sigma Phi (ESP) contacted Steppingstone LLC for assistance with a logo re-design. The association had a logo that had served it for many years, but they felt the logo was dated and needed an update. The association was also seeking to appeal to new and younger members entering the cooperative extension program as a career. The leadership felt a new logo and branding support might help them appeal to a younger generation of professionals. The association offered a variety of career development services and mentoring for these younger professionals and wanted to be more engaged with them.
The logo, drawn with out boundaries, is emblematic of an organization that welcomes members from all disciplines within the Extension System, as well as ESP’s commitment to diversity in membership and ideas.
The clean, bold appearance of the letters symbolizes the empowerment members gain from their membership and the knowledge and skills they use to develop to our fullest potential. The letter P’s unique key shape represents ESP as the key to members’ professional excellence, professional development, leadership development, scholarship and opportunities for recognition.
Green symbolizes the organization’s collective commitment to the disciplines in which they work, youth development; family and consumer sciences; community development; and agriculture and natural resources. Gold represents the value of their membership and the gold standard they set for themselves.
A tagline was also devised to go with the new logo, ” “Your Key to Professional Excellence.” Steppingstone LLC created branding guidelines to accompany the logo so everyone would understand how to properly use the logo, which types of logo files should be utilized for specific uses, and explaining the fonts and colors used by the association. The project also included creating templates and a new website.
